July Newsletter

Welcome to July!

Summer is in full swing, and we hope you're finding opportunities to slow down, reconnect with the people and activities that bring you joy, and soak up some sunshine along the way. Spending time outdoors can be a wonderful way to support both physical and emotional well-being, and safe sun exposure helps our bodies produce vitamin D, an important nutrient for overall health. Whether you're taking a walk, enjoying a meal outside, or simply pausing to appreciate a beautiful Pacific Northwest day, we encourage you to embrace the season and make space for moments of rest and renewal.

We are excited to share that, in the coming months, Kaiun Wellness will begin accepting a limited number of insurance plans. While we will continue to offer private-pay services and strive to provide individualized, high-quality care, expanding our insurance offerings is one way we hope to increase access to mental health services for our community. We look forward to sharing more details, including participating insurance plans and timelines, as they become available.

Service Expansion Update:

After thoughtful consideration, we have decided not to move forward with adding acupuncture services to Kaiun Wellness at this time. As our practice continues to grow, we remain committed to being intentional about the services we offer and ensuring they align with our mission and long-term vision. We appreciate the interest and support we've received regarding this possibility and look forward to continuing to provide high-quality mental health and wellness services while thoughtfully exploring future opportunities that best serve our community.

As always, thank you for allowing Kaiun Wellness to be part of your wellness journey. We wish you a healthy, joyful, and restorative July!

Media of the Month

Roar by Stacy Sims

We recommend Stacy Sims’ book “Roar.” Sims is an exercise physiologist and nutrition scientist who argues that, in essence, women are not small men. She argues that until recently, clinical sports nutrition recommendations for women have been derived from research primarily conducted on men and offers a framework for women to work with, rather than against, their unique biology. As summer brings more opportunities to be more active and enjoy fresh summer foods, we encourage anyone interested in women’s health to dive into “Roar.” You can also learn more about her work, including her independent studies, articles and online courses, on her website.
